Historical Highlights

Established 1961

Faith Baptist Missionary Church of Hempstead, New York was organized on Sunday, March 5, 1961, under the leadership of Rev. Charles Neal on the second floor of the Odd Fellows Hall on South Franklin Street . On September 30, 1961, the church was incorporated under the laws of the State of New York .

We moved from the Odd Fellows Hall to 475 South Franklin and Glenmore Street , in 1963.

Down through the years Faith has been blessed with spiritually inspired leadership, which has kept her growing in the service of the Lord.

After the demise of Rev. Charles Neal, we were lead in the spiritual path under the following pastors: Rev. Henry J. Pippins, Rev. Gerald S. White and Rev. Joseph J. Howell.

On February 24 th , 1997, the church voted to call Rev. Joe L. Brown to fulfill the leadership and responsibility as Pastor of our great church.

Rev. Brown appropriates his work of Pastoral leadership with much zeal, being led by the Holy Spirit. His progress is tremendous. God has blessed Faith beyond expectations. God placed a vision in Rev. Brown's spirit to find a building or property that could house our worship services, as well as the ministries that are crucial in helping to prepare the membership for the New Millennium

After being at 475 South Franklin Street for 41 years, we made History in the Village of Hempstead with a “Victory March” to 145 North Franklin Street , Hempstead , New York , on Saturday, December 7, 2002. It was biblically symbolic of how Joshua led God's people into the Promised Land (never to look back, but to look ahead for what God has in store for us). By trusting and having faith in God, He enlarged our territory from 3,768 square feet to 43,326 square feet of property.

We are grateful to God for all He has done for us and we continuously lift our hands to Him in total praise! TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR ALL THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE!

“Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain”.

Psalms 127:1
